The Dispatch screen provides a real-time map view of all your delivery orders, helping you coordinate deliveries efficiently. See where orders need to go, track their status, and assign drivers.

Note: The Dispatch feature requires your business location to have coordinates configured. If you see a “Location Required” message, contact support to set up your location coordinates.

Accessing Dispatch

  1. Click “Dispatch” in the main navigation
  2. View the delivery map with your business location centred

Map Overview

The Dispatch screen displays an interactive map showing:

  • Your Business Location: Marked at the centre of the map
  • Delivery Zones: Your configured delivery areas shown as shaded regions
  • Order Pins: Each delivery order appears as a coloured pin at the customer’s address

Order Pin Colours

Pins are colour-coded by order status:

Filtering Orders

Use the filter chips at the top to focus on specific orders:

  • All: Show all delivery orders
  • Preparing: Orders currently being prepared
  • Ready: Orders ready for dispatch
  • Out: Orders out for delivery
  • Unassigned: Orders without an assigned driver

The count next to each filter shows how many orders are in that status.

Order Details

Click on any order pin on the map to view:

  • Order number
  • Customer name and address
  • Order status
  • Assigned driver (if any)

Click the order to navigate to the full order details page.

Driver Assignment

If your business has drivers configured, you can assign drivers to orders directly from the Dispatch screen:

  1. Click an order pin on the map
  2. Select a driver from the dropdown
  3. Driver is assigned immediately

You’ll see a confirmation when a driver is assigned or unassigned.

Note: Driver assignment requires the “Assign drivers to orders” permission.

Active Trips Panel

When drivers have active delivery trips, an Active Trips panel appears in the top-right corner showing:

  • Driver name and trip status (Pending, In Progress, Completed)
  • Progress bar: Shows how many deliveries completed (e.g., “2 of 5 delivered”)
  • Order list: Each order in the trip with sequence number and delivery status
  • Trip info: Estimated distance and duration

Click the panel header to expand or collapse it.

Real-Time Updates

The Dispatch screen automatically refreshes every 30 seconds to show:

  • New orders that come in
  • Status changes as orders progress
  • Updated driver positions (when available)

Click the Refresh button to manually update the view immediately.

Requirements

To use the Dispatch screen effectively:

  1. Business location with coordinates: Your location must have latitude/longitude set
  2. Delivery zones configured: Set up your delivery areas in Locations
  3. Drivers (optional): Add drivers to enable driver assignment

Troubleshooting

”Location Required” Message

Your business location needs coordinates configured. This is typically done during onboarding. Contact support if you need coordinates added.

Orders Not Appearing

  • Check that orders are for delivery (collection orders don’t appear on dispatch)
  • Verify orders have a delivery address with valid coordinates
  • Ensure you have the correct filter selected

Can’t Assign Drivers

  • Verify you have the “Assign drivers to orders” permission
  • Check that drivers are configured for your business
  • Ensure the order is in a status that allows driver assignment

Map Not Loading

  • Check your internet connection
  • Try refreshing the page
  • Clear browser cache if issues persist
