Manage your TypeMenu subscription, view your current plan details, upgrade or change plans, and access billing information. Your subscription determines which features are available and how many SMS messages you can send monthly.

Accessing Subscription & Billing

From the Dashboard

  1. Go to Dashboard - Log in to your TypeMenu account
  2. Click “Billing” in the main navigation menu
  3. View your billing page with three tabs:
    • Subscription: Your current plan status and management options
    • Plans: Browse and purchase available plans
    • SMS: View SMS usage and manage SMS bundles

Note: You need appropriate permissions to view and manage billing. If you don’t see the billing option or can’t make changes, contact your account administrator.

Understanding Your Current Plan

Plan Status Types

Free Trial

  • Duration: 30 days from account creation
  • Features: Full access to all platform features
  • SMS Credits: Limited allocation for testing
  • Visual Indicators:
    • Crown icon with amber/gold colour
    • Progress bar showing trial usage
    • “X days left” badge
    • Trial end date displayed

What happens when trial expires?

  • Your account switches to “lapsed” status
  • All ordering features become unavailable
  • You must choose a paid plan to continue using the service

Active Paid Plan

  • Status: Shows as “Active” with green badge
  • Billing: Displays amount and billing interval (monthly/yearly)
  • Renewal: Shows next billing date
  • Features: All plan features are available
  • SMS Quota: Monthly SMS allocation shown

Lapsed Plan

  • Status: Subscription has expired
  • Features: Limited or no access to ordering features
  • Visual Indicators: Red warning triangle icon
  • Required Action: Choose a new subscription plan

No Active Plan

  • Status: Free plan with limited features
  • Features: Basic account functionality only
  • SMS: No SMS credits included
  • Upgrade Required: For full ordering capabilities

Standard Plan

Best for: Small restaurants and cafes starting with online ordering

Pricing: View current pricing on the Billing → Plans tab in your dashboard. Monthly and yearly billing options are available, with annual plans offering savings.

Choosing & Purchasing a Plan

How to Select a Plan

  1. Go to Billing and click the Plans tab

  2. Browse Available Plans: View features and pricing for each plan

  3. Choose Billing Period:

    • Monthly: Pay month-to-month, cancel anytime
    • Yearly: 17% discount, billed annually
  4. Add SMS Bundles (Optional):

    • Standard and Professional plans can add extra SMS credits
    • SMS add-ons are billed monthly regardless of plan billing period
    • Additional bundles increase your monthly SMS quota
  5. Review Total Cost: See combined plan + SMS pricing

  6. Click “Get Started”: Proceed to secure checkout

SMS Add-on Options

When selecting Standard or Professional plans, you can add SMS bundles:

  • Additional SMS credits for customer notifications
  • Billed monthly on top of your plan cost
  • Can be added or removed later
  • SMS usage tracked separately from plan features

Enterprise Plan Selection

  1. Click “Talk to Sales” on the Enterprise plan card
  2. Contact Form: Fill out your requirements and contact details
  3. Sales Consultation: Our team will discuss your needs
  4. Custom Proposal: Receive tailored pricing and setup plan
  5. Onboarding: Dedicated support for implementation

Managing Your Subscription

Viewing Subscription Details

  • Current Plan: Name, billing amount, and status
  • Billing Cycle: When your subscription renews
  • SMS Usage: Current quota and usage tracking
  • Payment Method: Last 4 digits and expiry (via management link)

Managing Existing Subscriptions

Accessing Subscription Management

  1. Go to Billing section from dashboard
  2. Find your active plan card
  3. Click “Manage Subscription & Invoices” button
  4. External Link: Opens in new window/tab

What You Can Manage

  • Update Payment Method: Change credit card details
  • Update Billing Information: Change billing address
  • View Invoices: Download past invoices and receipts
  • Cancel Subscription: End recurring billing
  • Reactivate Subscription: Resume cancelled plans
  • Change Plans: Upgrade or downgrade plans
  • Billing History: View all past payments

Note: Subscription management opens an external page. Your data remains secure and changes sync automatically with your TypeMenu account.

Changing Plans

Upgrading Your Plan

  1. Go to Billing and click the Plans tab
  2. Select Higher-Tier Plan: Standard → Professional → Enterprise
  3. Choose Billing Period: Monthly or yearly
  4. Add SMS Options: If applicable
  5. Complete Purchase: Immediate upgrade, prorated billing

Upgrade Benefits:

  • Immediate access to new features
  • Prorated charges for unused time on current plan
  • SMS credits added immediately

Downgrading Your Plan

  1. Use Subscription Management Link: Access billing portal
  2. Select New Plan: Choose lower-tier option
  3. Effective Date: Next billing cycle or immediate
  4. Feature Access: Some features may become unavailable

Downgrade Considerations:

  • May lose access to advanced features
  • SMS quota may decrease
  • Changes take effect at next billing cycle unless specified

SMS Quota Management

Viewing SMS Usage

  • Total Quota: Combined from plan + add-on bundles
  • Usage Breakdown:
    • From main plan (included credits)
    • From SMS bundles (additional purchases)
  • Monthly Reset: Quota refreshes each billing cycle

Adding SMS Credits

  1. Go to Billing and click the SMS tab
  2. Browse Available Bundles: Different credit amounts available
  3. Select Bundle: Choose based on your needs
  4. Purchase: Immediate addition to your quota
  5. Billing: Monthly recurring unless cancelled

Billing & Payment

Billing Cycles

  • Monthly Plans: Billed on the same date each month
  • Yearly Plans: Billed annually on subscription date
  • SMS Add-ons: Always billed monthly
  • Prorated Charges: For mid-cycle plan changes

Payment Methods

  • Credit Cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express
  • Security: PCI-compliant payment processing
  • Storage: Secure tokenization, we don’t store card details
  • Updates: Change payment method anytime via management link

Failed Payments

  • Retry Logic: Automatic retry for failed payments
  • Notifications: Email alerts for payment issues
  • Grace Period: Limited access during payment issues
  • Account Suspension: After extended non-payment

Trial Period Management

During Trial

  • Full Feature Access: All platform features available
  • Progress Tracking: Visual progress bar and days remaining
  • Upgrade Anytime: Switch to paid plan before trial ends
  • No Commitment: Cancel anytime during trial

Trial Expiration

  • Automatic Transition: To “lapsed” status when trial ends
  • Data Preservation: Your menu and settings are saved
  • Reactivation: Choose a paid plan to restore full access
  • No Data Loss: All your configuration remains intact

Extending Trial

  • Contact Support: Request trial extension for special circumstances
  • Business Verification: May be required for extensions

Troubleshooting

Can’t Access Billing

If you can’t see or access billing settings:

  • Check Permissions: Need “view billing” permission
  • Contact Administrator: Request access from account owner
  • Browser Issues: Try different browser or clear cache

Plan Changes Not Reflecting

If plan upgrades/downgrades don’t show immediately:

  • Wait for Sync: Changes may take a few minutes
  • Refresh Page: Hard refresh (Ctrl+F5) to clear cache
  • Check Billing Portal: Confirm changes in subscription management

SMS Quota Issues

If SMS credits aren’t updating:

  • Billing Cycle: Quota resets monthly on billing date
  • Bundle Activation: New bundles take effect immediately
  • Usage Tracking: May have slight delay in real-time updates

Payment Processing Issues

If payments aren’t processing:

  • Check Card Details: Verify expiry and security code
  • Contact Bank: Confirm card is active and has sufficient funds
  • Retry Payment: Use billing portal to update payment method
  • Contact Support: For persistent payment issues
