Account Settings
Manage your personal account preferences, profile information, and security settings. These settings are specific to your user account and don't affect your restaurant's business settings.

Profile
Update your name and email address. Found in Settings → My Account → Profile section (open by default).
Fields
- Name: Your display name throughout the system
- Email: Your login email address
Changing Your Email
When you update your email address:
- A verification link is sent to the new address
- Your old email continues to work until the new one is verified
- A “Resend verification” link is available if the email doesn’t arrive
Saving
Click Save in the Profile section footer. An unsaved changes bar appears at the bottom of the page if you have pending changes.
Password
Change your password in the Password section (collapsed by default).
Steps
- Go to Settings → My Account
- Open the Password section
- Enter your current password
- Enter your new password
- Enter the new password again in the confirm field
- Click Save password
Appearance & Hints
Customise the interface theme and control contextual hints. Found in the Appearance & Hints section (open by default).
Theme
Choose between three options — changes apply immediately:
- Light: Clean, bright interface for well-lit environments
- Dark: Reduced eye strain for low-light or evening use
- System: Automatically follows your device’s light/dark preference
Show Hints
Toggle contextual hints and tips on or off as you navigate the admin panel. New users should keep hints on; experienced users may prefer them off.
Reset All Hints
If you’ve dismissed hints but want to see them again:
- View the dismissed hints count showing how many you’ve dismissed
- Click Reset Hints to restore all dismissed hints
- Hints will reappear as you navigate
Notification Preferences
Personal notification settings (toast notifications, audible alerts, browser notifications, and push notifications) are managed separately in Settings → Notifications under the My Notifications section. See the Notifications article for details.
Troubleshooting
Profile Update Issues
- Check form validation — required fields must be completed
- Verify email format — must be a valid email address
- Check for duplicates — email must be unique in the system
Password Change Problems
- Current password must be entered correctly
- Confirmation must match — both new password fields must be identical
Theme Not Changing
- Refresh the page — may need a browser reload
- Check cookie settings — theme is stored via a cookie
