Google Analytics
Google Analytics is a free tool from Google that helps you understand how visitors interact with your storefront. It provides insights into who’s visiting, how they found you, what pages they browse, and whether they go on to place an order.
When integrated with TypeMenu, Google Analytics tracks key customer behaviours like page views, menu visits, and conversions—giving you visibility into your marketing performance and customer journey.
If you don’t already have a Google Analytics account, you can sign up at analytics.google.com. We recommend using Google Analytics 4 (GA4), as it is the current and supported version going forward.
What Google Analytics Provides
- Visitor tracking – Know how many people are visiting your storefront
- Traffic sources – See whether users found you through search, ads, social, or direct links
- Device and location data – Understand whether customers are using mobile or desktop, and where they’re located
- Conversion insights – Measure how many users complete orders, and where they drop off
- Custom events – Track product views, menu interactions, and custom funnel steps (with GA4)
Once connected, all this data will be visible in your Google Analytics dashboard, giving you the information you need to make better marketing decisions and optimise your storefront for performance.
